In this project we started by doing research, sending out questionnaires to friends and family, as well as members of Mitt I Citys customers club. We got a variety of answers about what they would like to see upstairs in the shopping mall, ranging from somewhere for kids to play to an establishment for grown-ups to sit down and take a glas of wine or a beer.

What we came up with from all of these different things was a kind of food market, where for example restaurants could sign up and showcase new dishes, or farmers could stand and sell their locally produced vegetables and so on.

We then went on to do a MVP Canvas to get a better feel for how to implement our idea and if it would actually work. And the Conclusion from that was that yes it would work.

Accidentally, we also noticed that the first floor food court also would get a bit quieter because of the ceiling that would be built over it as a floor for the food market. While Mitt I City liked that it was very open in the middle, according to our research into sounds while eating, people would rather have a quiet time than loudness and yelling while eating. This boosted our belief in the project even more.

We went to the shopping mall and took pictures so that we could photoshop and get a clearer picture of what it would look like.

We used SketchIt to get a 3d model of our project. One thing we had to keep in mind is that while we wanted to make a third floor (the space was there for that to be possible), we had to make that accessible for everyone, which would mean extending the elevators up to the third floor as well. So we included that in the 3d model as well. There was also the question about a already existing café on the second floor, right behind where we wanted the market to be. We had two solutions for this, either they would be in the same place, in which case the market would get a few square meters less of space, or they could get the third floor instead and the market would cover the entire middle part of the second floor. These solutions was part of our presentation for the Mitt I City owners.
